Our Contrarian Approach
Conventional wisdom says that business owners need to know all their numbers in detail and stay on top of every tax trend. We completely disagree with this. In our experience, mental health professionals hate taxes and are totally overwhelmed by QuickBooks, finance, or anything else in this realm.
Our philosophy is refreshingly simple: stick with what you’re great at. The key to success is maximizing time doing things you’re truly great at. Everything else—especially financial tasks you dislike—should be delegated or outsourced without shame or hesitation. Stay in the zone!

I’m Billy Angelo, CPA and founder of Providers Prosper. Through my firm, Angelo & Associates, I’ve spent the past two decades working closely with private practice owners—especially psychologists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals—helping them navigate taxes and business strategy with confidence.
I’ve written finance-related articles for Psychotherapy Networker, and that process prompted me to start this site. Providers Prosper gives practice owners a better alternative to Google searches and social media hacks. This isn’t generic business advice—it’s custom-tailored for private practice owners. Everything here is based on real-world experience from CPAs who work with practices like yours every day.
I believe you can run a great practice without any business education or business experience–you just need the right guidance.
On a personal note, when I’m not working with clients or writing, I’m usually with my wife and our four kids, reading, gardening, or out on the golf course.
